Ben Tilney enjoyed a breakout 2016/17 campaign, which the young full-back wants to build upon this season.

Tilney made 11 appearances for the first-team last term, including four league starts, and while pleased with his achievements in his debut campaign, the defender hopes to add many more appearances and accomplishments to his name in 2017/18.

“It’s a big season for me,” Tilney told iFollow MK Dons. “I was on the cusp of the first-team last season so I knew, going into this offseason, that if I worked hard then it would put me in good stead to be more involved in the squad next season.”

In order to put himself in the best position possible to achieve his goals, Tilney spent a considerable amount of his offseason at Stadium MK working with the Club’s Head of Sports Science team, along with several other young professionals who will also be eager to impress Robbie Neilson in 2017/18.

“A lot of us young lads were in for gym sessions to make sure we were ready to go. Hilly (John Hill) and Tom (Bromley) were really good to us and had us in most days.

“We know it’s going to be an important season for us all so we want to make the most of the opportunity.”
