A ‘dream’ move to England for midfielder

Ousseynou Cissé is excited to test himself in Britain following his move to Stadium MK...

Ousseynou Cissé has enjoyed spells in France, Spain and Belgium during his career but England is where the midfielder has always dreamt of playing.

That dream became reality earlier this week when the Mali international joined MK Dons a two-year deal, becoming Robbie Neilson’s third signing ahead of the 2017/18 season.

“I’m very happy to join MK Dons,” the 26-year-old told iFollow MK Dons.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to play in England and I’ve managed to make that dream come true. Now it’s up to me to give everything on the pitch.”

Cissé joined his new teammates for pre-season training this week and will spend the next six weeks adapting to life in England, although the 6ft 4in defensive-minded midfielder believes his game is already well suited to British football.

“(English football is) box-to-box and I’m somebody who runs a lot – I have a lot of energy. I’m big too –I’m physical and I like to impose myself.

“I’m also very technical. You look at me and you might not think it but I am very technical – I think that’s what is going to be my main attribute for this team.

“I’m hoping to flourish here in England.”

The new recruit may get his first chance to impress next week when the Dons kick-off their pre-season campaign with three friendlies against local sides, starting with a trip to Buckingham Athletic.

Cissé is eager to get going.

“I really can’t wait to start playing matches so I can show what I bring to this team and to really start playing English football.”

Cissé has signed up for the 2017/18 campaign - now it's your turn!
