Here are the storylines to follow heading into the Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie with Brighton & Hove Albion...

Championship test in the FA Cup
The Dons’ reward for their extra-time victory over Charlton Athletic in December was a trip to East Sussex and the toughest test they could have received, outside of landing a Premier League side.

Saturday’s opponents Brighton & Hove Albion currently sit top of the Sky Bet Championship table after winning 12 of their last 16 matches, including their last five.

The Seagulls boast the joint-best defensive record in the EFL having only conceded 15 times in their 24 league matches. Attacking-wise, they’ve scored two or more goals in eight of their last 10 fixtures.

A difficult afternoon, therefore, awaits the Dons but Robbie Neilson and his side are sure to still fancy their chances of causing an upset – this is the FA Cup after all!

Baldock v Baldock Part IV
Should George Baldock recover from his hamstring injury in time to make the journey to the Amex Stadium, the right-back will come up against his brother for the fourth time in his career.

Sam, a Dons Academy graduate like George, is the only sibling to have come out on top in previous versions of the ‘Battle of Baldock’s’ – he was part of the Brighton side who beat the men from MK1 during the second half of last season.

The other two meetings both ended in draws, although on each occasion Sam scored twice.

Any new additions?
The January transfer window is open, giving clubs like the Dons just over four weeks to bolster their squad for the run-in.

Neilson has revealed his intentions to add numbers in defence, midfield and attack but also stressed the importance of recruiting the right players – players who can make an impact at Stadium MK during the second half of the season.

Neilson remained tight-lipped after Monday’s clash with Chesterfield on the subject of incomings but will speak to the media again on Thursday where another update is expected.
