Pete Winkelman is confident MK Dons will improve their squad before the close of the January Transfer Window.
“Obviously we’d have liked to have got some players in already but Robbie has been very clear in what he wants,” Winkelman said.
“We’ve got some really good opportunities with some top targets and if we bring those in, we will improve our football team.
“Anyone can make some signings and we’ve been guilty of that in the past – just going out and getting some bodies. They might make your bench a bit stronger but they don’t win you anything.
“Have no doubt, the ambition is absolutely intact at our Football Club. If we get our top targets in then we’ll be a much better team by the end of this month.”
He continued: “Everything I do is about making football work in Milton Keynes. I’ve done some good stuff, I’ve made some mistakes but every time we come back stronger.
“What we’ve all been reminded of this year, is that football is just about winning games and we’re working hard to get the club back on the upward trajectory
“When you’ve been in one situation for a number of years, you can’t change things overnight. We have to work hard to do that – it’s not an instant fix.
“It’s not been a cheap process. Changing a manager is never a cheap process. When you do that, you have to make sure they’ve got the tools and that’s something that is available to Robbie.”
