Robbie: Bounce back at Bury

13 February 2017

Robbie Neilson hopes to send the travelling MK Dons supporters back down the M6 with three points this evening.

Neilson’s Dons face Bury at Gigg Lane tonight, looking to bounce back after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Oxford United – their first Sky Bet League One defeat in seven games.

“We’ve been on a fantastic run but had a little blip on Saturday,” Neilson told MK Dons PlayerHD. “(Tuesday’s game) is a chance for us to get back to winning ways.

“It’s going to be a long journey up to Bury for the fans but hopefully we can send them back with three points.”

“They’ve got (James) Vaughn up front, whose scored a lot of goals for them and (Tom) Pope is a difficult player to play against as well. They’ve changed their system a couple of times so we have to make sure we’re fully prepared.”

“We’ve been pretty solid recently and haven’t lost a lot of goals,” he added. “We’ll need to continue that because it’s going to be a tough one (against Bury)

Neilson is backing his side to do a job this evening.

If the Dons are to come out on top they’ll need to stop a Shakers attack which has scored 12 goals in their last five matches and boasts one of the EFL’s more in-form strikers in James Vaughan.
