What to look out for ahead of Saturday’s clash...

7 December 2017

mkdons.com details the storylines to follow heading into this Saturday’s Sky Bet League One at Stadium MK.

Return to Sky Bet League One action...

It’s been two weeks since MK Dons’ last Sky Bet League One game, in late November Robbie Neilson’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Doncaster Rovers after Chuks Aneke’s early goal gave Dons the lead.

Since that fixture, MK Dons have recorded a 4-1 win over Maidstone United in the Emirates FA Cup before suffering a 4-0 defeat against Chelsea Under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy.

With the Third Round tie against Queens Park Rangers taking place in early January, Robbie Neilson’s side will play six times in the league before facing their Sky Bet Championship opposition.

What better way to enter the festive period than with a win over Shrewsbury Town this Saturday.

Options for Robbie...

During the last two cup fixtures, Neilson has rotated his side in order to keep things fresh as we approach a busy schedule.

Wieger Sietsma, Joe Walsh, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Robbie Muirhead and Sam Nombe were all given minutes against Chelsea Under-21s. The Checkatrade game also enabled Neilson to rest both Kieran Agard and Chuks Aneke.

Come 2pm on Saturday afternoon we’ll know just who the Gaffer has opted to field against the Shropshire outfit.

More goals for Agard...

After finding the net for the first time this season in the 2-2 draw against Charlton, Agard has found the net a further four times. His second followed shortly after as he found the back of the net in stoppage time to rescue a point from the Valley before his penalty drew Dons level against Southend United.

After failing to find the back of the net against Doncaster Rovers, the 28-year-old scored twice against Maidstone United just six minutes after replacing Ryan Seager.

After being rested against Chelsea Under-21s could we see Agard back amongst the goals this weekend?

Aylesbury Big Day...

Saturday's Sky Bet League One home fixture with Shrewsbury Town has been designated as the Aylesbury Big Day, meaning discounts for residents of the town.

As part of the Aylesbury Big Day offer, residents with a HP18 – HP23 postcode can purchase tickets at a discounted rate of £10 adults and £3 under-18s.
