Charlie Bill believes it “feels strange” that MK Dons Ladies go into a game as the underdogs, but the Dons are looking forward to playing Cardiff City Ladies in the SSE FA Women’s FA Cup.
The Dons host Cardiff City Ladies in the second round of the SSE FA Women’s FA Cup at Willen Road on Sunday. Kick-off 2pm.
The Dons are flying high in the South East Division 1, sat third after achieving 24 points from 11 games. Sunday’s opponents, Cardiff City Ladies, are in the league above, the Southern Division, and have ten points from their 11 league games.
Bill spoke after last Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town Ladies about playing a higher-ranked opposition in the form of Cardiff City Ladies.
He said: “We are looking forward to the FA Cup game, there was a real buzz around the place when the draw was made.
“We will work hard in training Tuesday and Wednesday to implement our game plan and give us the best chance of getting through.”
Bill continued that this game feels different because normally the Dons go into games with the pressure of winning - due to being the favourites.
He continued: “It feels strange going to the game as underdogs as we have had a lot of pressure to win games this season, but that’s something we look forward to.”
The Dons will be looking to reach the Third Round of the competition for the first time in their history after being knocked out at the same stage last season against Coventry United Ladies.
