Walsh wants to put points on the board

19 August 2017

Joe Walsh hopes MK Dons can come away from Stadium MK this evening with points on the board.

The men from MK1 face Gillingham at Stadium MK today looking to record their first win of the 2017/18 campaign and Walsh, who signed a new three-year deal with the Club on Friday, is confident that will be the case.

“We go into every game wanting to win,” Walsh told iFollow MK Dons. “We want to get those points on the board soon – hopefully we can do that by winning on Saturday.”

In the second half of last season, the Dons enjoyed a terrific run of form at Stadium MK and Walsh hopes they can replicate that success in 2017/18.

“We want it to be difficult for teams when they come to the stadium. We’re looking for our home form to get the wins in.

“If we start off games quick, we know we can kill teams off and they aren’t coming back into it.”

A large reason for that excellent home form last term was the backing from the Stadium MK faithful, who Walsh says play a massive part in any home triumph.

“They get the players going and their support gives you an extra edge in the game. We are all grateful for the support we get.”
