Ryan Seager feels the MK Dons side that will travel to Blackburn Rovers this Saturday will be a confident one.
The men from MK1 picked up their first Sky Bet League One victory of the season last weekend against Gillingham and then followed that up with a spirited display against Swansea City in the Carabao Cup.
“We can go there with confidence,” Seager told iFollow MK Dons. “Especially after we got our first win in the league last weekend and after the performance (against Swansea), where we matched them well for parts of the game.
“We’ll take the positives into the game on Saturday. We’ll get our heads down and work hard over the next few days to get ready for Blackburn.
“They are a good side but so are we, so I think we can match them well. If we go there and be positive, hopefully we can get the win.”
Seager, too, will be full of confidence heading into Saturday, after scoring his first competitive goal for the Dons in Tuesday’s tie with Swansea.
“It was good to get off the mark. It’s relieved a bit of pressure of myself because it has been a few games – it was playing on my mind a little bit but it was good coming in and getting the goal.
“Once (Robbie Muirhead) got the ball, I noticed nobody was following me so I ran past him. It was a great ball from him, I took a nice touch and put it in the corner.”
Ironically, Seager wasn’t meant to start the game in midweek but after Kieran Agard sustained a groin injury during the warm-up, the Southampton loanee was thrust into the XI – and he made the most of his opportunity.
“We literally came back in from the warm-up and I went to get ready to sit on the bench,” Seager recalled. “The gaffer then told me I’d be starting.
“Sometimes it’s best to be put straight into it because you don’t think about it too much – I think that helped me.”
