Pawlett: Dons will be positive

Midfielder looks ahead to tonight's visit of Swansea City...

Peter Pawlett insists MK Dons will go into tonight’s Carabao Cup tie against Swansea City with a positive mindset.

Pawlett & Co entertain the Premier League Swans at Stadium MK this evening, looking to progress through to Round Three with what would be their second home victory in the space of four days.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” Pawlett told iFollow MK Dons. “It’s always good to test yourselves against the top players.

“We’ve got that victory under our belts so we can relax a little bit going into Tuesday. We’ll be the underdogs but we’ll still be positive about it.

“We’re at home and hopefully we can get a decent result.”

Pawlett made his second appearance as a Don in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Gillingham and the 26-year-old midfielder hopes to kick on after recovering from the injuries which disrupted his pre-season and start to the campaign.

“Hopefully all the issues are behind me now and I can play week-in, week-out.

“I had a few niggles at the end of last season but I was in contact with the physio team here straight away when I finished with Aberdeen and they were on the case. Then I picked up another little knock against Wigan.

“The physio team have been brilliant and it has been important to get 100 per cent fit.”
