Peter Pawlett views tonight’s Carabao Cup tie against Forest Green Rovers as an opportunity for MK Dons to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat at Stadium MK.
Pawlett & Co travel to Gloucestershire this evening looking to progress through to the Second Round of the Carabao Cup but also record their first success of the 2017/18 campaign.
“In this league, you get game after game and fortunately we’ve got a game on Tuesday night,” the attacking midfielder told iFollow after last weekend’s defeat to Wigan Athletic.
“It gives us a chance to put it right straight away – we’re looking forward to it and hopefully we can get a good result.”
Saturday’s clash with the Latics was Pawlett’s competitive debut for the Dons and although disappointed not to mark the occasion with a victory, the former Aberdeen man was pleased to make his Stadium MK bow.
“It was a disappointing result, of course, but I was pleased to get on the pitch and get some minutes – to get out there and feel the ball and get touches – I really enjoyed it.
“Wigan are a top side, having just been relegated from the Championship. Towards the end of the game, we were all over them. We just need be more clinical in the final third.”
