MK Dons have signed Celtic winger Aidan Nesbitt for an undisclosed fee.
The Scotland Under-21 international arrived at Stadium MK on Deadline Day to put pen to paper on a two-year deal. The transfer is subject to clearance from the relevant governing bodies.
Nesbitt, who becomes the Dons’ 11th signing in this transfer window, will wear the number 21 shirt.
Speaking to iFollow MK Dons, the 20-year-old said: “I’m absolutely delighted. I’ve had a long day today but I’m happy it’s all done and I can’t wait to get started.
“Robbie told the second I come here I’d be impressed and I was – it’s a big stadium and this is a team going places.
“While I was at Celtic there was a massive expectation, no matter what level you were at, to win games and that’s drilled a winning mentality into me which hopefully I can bring here.”
He added: “Hopefully I can bring a bit of flair, some creativity and speed as well. I’m going to come in, prove what I can do and fight for a place in the team.”
Nesbitt, 20, has made 49 senior appearances for Celtic, Partick Thistle and Greenock Morton, while he is a former Academy Player of the Year at Celtic Park.
He also has four goals and 26 international caps to his name for Scotland and was a stand-out performer for his country at the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship – Nesbitt was named in the Team of the Tournament.
Manager Robbie Neilson said: “We’re really pleased to bring Aidan in. We know him from our time in Scotland, where he is one of the country’s biggest prospects.
“He’s an attack-minded player who has got great skill and ability to go by people but he needs game-time to develop and push for a place in the first team.”
