George: Mistakes must go

29 September 2016

George Baldock insists MK Dons must stop making ‘silly’ errors if they are to improve their inconsistent form.

Despite dominating their Sky Bet League One clash with Bury on Tuesday, Baldock and Co failed to build on their impressive win at Fleetwood Town last weekend, falling to a frustrating 3-1 defeat.

“At 1-1 there looked to be only one winner so to come off the pitch having lost 3-1 is so disappointing,” Baldock told MK Dons PlayerHD.

“Our luck has got to turn at some point. We’ve had 17 shots and hit the post twice but it’s just not dropping for us. We then concede three very avoidable goals and that’s just not good enough.

“We just need to cut these silly errors out. The Gaffer and Richie don’t work so hard to help us negate the opposition’s strengths, for us to give them goals. It’s just silly errors that are costing us at the moment and we have to take that as a team.”

“I hope the fans can see how hard the boys are working and how unlucky we’ve been at the minute. But, it needs to all turn soon because we don’t want to let it all slip away.”

“We’re 10 games in now so something needs to happen. Our away form is pretty decent, it’s just our home form which is costing us at the minute.

He continued: “Something needs to happen. We talked at length in the dressing room and we’ll be in the rest of the week to go through it.

Tuesday’s defeat saw the Dons remain in mid-table, five points adrift of the top-six – Baldock wants their league standing to improve sooner rather than later.
