Hendry's debut delight

6 October 2016

Jack Hendry had to wait for his MK Dons debut but the defender was pleased to finally make his bow in the Checkatrade Trophy success at Peterborough United.

Loanee Hendry played the full 90 minutes in Tuesday’s win at the ABAX Stadium, helping the men from MK1 keep a clean sheet against a strong Posh side and seal a place in the next stage of the competition.

“I thought we did well, keeping a clean sheet and getting three points,” Hendry told MK Dons PlayerHD. “It was a good night for the Football Club.

“We dominated the game for large spells and moved the ball really well. We rode a bit of a storm as well which is good to see – overall it was a really good performance.”

He continued: “(On a personal note) it was good to get 90 minutes. I’m just getting into the swing of things here so as a defender, keeping a clean sheet is good. I thought other parts of my game were good too – hopefully I can build on it.”

Hendry still has three months remaining on his loan deal from parent club Wigan Athletic and the Scotsman hopes to make many more appearances between now and the end of his time at Stadium MK.

“I feel this is a team I’d like to play in, definitely. I’m very eager to play so when I do get the opportunity I need to go and prove myself and hopefully break into the team at some point.”
