Duo reflect on Oldham success

3 October 2016

Kieran Agard and George B Williams react to Saturday's 2-0 success at Oldham Athletic...

KIERAN AGARD
On the win...
“It’s a massive three points for us. Credit to the team and the staff, we stuck to our game plan and it paid off.”

On bouncing back from Tuesday...
“We prepared right and we didn’t let our heads drop from Tuesday. We got on with it, worked hard all week and got our just rewards. To show that bounce-back attitude is important – it’s something we’re going to need. The gaffer and coaches have installed that in us and it showed here.”

On the goal...
“I’m always happy to score goals, that’s what I love doing. Most importantly we got the three points and that’s what I’m most happy with.”

On the away form...
“We’ve just to keep doing what we’re doing. Preparing right and doing all the bits that we’re doing off the pitch.”

On move up the league table...
“We’ll take each game as it comes. We’ll prepare right and dig in each week on the training pitch. Hopefully we’ll get up that table.”

On the travelling support...
“Without them it would be very different. We’re thankful and we appreciate the fans coming out and cheering g us on. We’re happy we could please them today.”

GEORGE WILLIAMS
On the victory...
“The most important thing is always to get three points, especially away from home because teams make it hard. Three points and a clean sheet – we’re happy with that.”

On away form...
“I think confidence is growing, home and away. The performances are getting better and better. Funnily enough, today probably wasn’t one of our best performances but sometimes away from home that’s hard to do. To get the three points is the main thing.”

On making an appearance...
“First of all, I hope George’s injury isn’t too bad – hopefully he gets back soon. Personally, I felt I did okay. I enjoyed it. I’m just delighted to get the win and the clean sheet. It’s my first real competitive game in the league (this season) but when you go on you just get straight back into it. It felt like I’d been playing every week. Damo (Damien Doyle) keeps us fit and I didn’t feel off the pace. I felt fit and I enjoyed it.”

On clean sheet...
“It’s huge. As a defender you love getting clean sheets and away from home makes it that little bit sweeter as well. We’re really happy. You look at our forwards and we’ve got some really attacking players. We know that if we manage to keep a clean sheet then the goals will come.”

On building on the victory...
“We want to win every game. If we win on Tuesday then I think we’re through the group. All focus is on Tuesday and then it’s back to league football which we all love.”
