Karl Robinson will make changes to his MK Dons side for tonight’s tie with rivals Peterborough United but still has confidence in his team to come out on top.
“I’m going to make changes,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD. “But, the team we pick we believe can win the game.
“There will only be four players starting who started on Saturday. Some of those are enforced, some are tactical. Some players have struggled with injuries in recent weeks so it’s an opportunity to pull them out. It’s a lot of changes to make.
“Our priority is, of course, the league and we’ve got a big game in front of the Sky cameras on Sunday but we still want to go there and win – if we win it means we could go through so we want to put a performance on.”
“I felt we deserved more than what we got here,” Robinson added. “The set-piece and the own goal cost us because in certain aspects of that game I thought we were better.
Tonight’s tie not only provides the Dons with an opportunity to progress to the second round of the Checkatrade Trophy, but it also gives them a chance to go some way to making up for the 2-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of Posh earlier this season at Stadium MK.
