George keen to reclaim the winning mentality

1 November 2016

George Baldock wants MK Dons to rediscover that winning mentality, in order to turn positive performances into positive results.

Baldock & Co impressed against promotion-favourites Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last Saturday but despite that and Darren Potter’s first goal of the season, they weren’t able to come away with any points.

There have been many other instances this campaign where the Dons have undeservedly come away empty-handed and the talented right-back feels it’s vital the team start turning their strong displays into victories, as they look to kick-start climb back up the Sky Bet League One table.

“We are playing well, it’s just that winning mentality that’s not in us at the moment,” Baldock told MK Dons PlayerHD.

“I just can’t wait for us to put it right. There’s the FA Cup game coming up, where it will be nice to win and get that monkey off our back at home. Then hopefully we can kick on in the league.”

“There’s still plenty of time for it to change and it’s going to have to change. When the new manager does come in they aren’t going to accept where we are in the league at the moment.

“It’s hard when you’ve been relegated to pick yourselves back up. I remember when my brother got relegated they were in and around the relegation zone until about Christmas. They ended up finishing 10th – that isn’t an ambition of mine or the teams as we want to finish higher but it just shows how hard it can be bouncing back from relegation.

The Dons are back in Stadium MK action this Saturday when they host Spennymoor Town in first round of the Emirates FA Cup - tickets are priced from £10 adults, £3 under-18s and £1 under-12s, while Season Ticket holders can experience clubRed for just £15.
