Dons remember

14 November 2016

In honour of Remembrance Day, MK Dons paid tribute to servicemen and women who have given their lives at Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash with Walsall.

Both sets of players were led out of the tunnel by local World War II veteran Arnold Hargreaves, who played a major role in capturing the Enigma machine, which helped Britain decipher codes and ultimately win World War II.

Local Army Cadets then placed wreaths from both MK Dons and Walsall on the near touchline, where they remained throughout the game.

The silence was preceded by the Last Post, played by the Royal Green Jackets who concluded that part of the ceremony with a rendition of Réveille.

He was accompanied by military personal from both Milton Keynes and Walsall, who joined together with both sets of players, staff and supporters to observe a minute’s silence ahead of kick-off.
