The long wait is over for Chuks Aneke.
Aneke made his debut in Tuesday’s clash with Chesterfield before, once again, coming on a second-half substitute on Saturday in the 2-1 success over Coventry City.
“Making my debut was a long time coming – it was a fantastic feeling to get back out there,” he told MK Dons PlayerHD.
“I feel like a new player. There haven’t really been any nerves, it’s been more anticipation as I’ve been waiting to play for a long time.
“I just want to get my head down, get as many minutes as I can and make an impact.
“I ended the Chesterfield game with a bit of a bloody nose, which certainly was a welcome back!”
The 25-year-old has worked tirelessly to get himself in a position to step back out on to the field but he was keen to pay tribute to those who have helped him along the way.
He said: “My injury was quite complex – it was a combination of rehabilitation and a waiting game. Since I signed here, the medicial staff have been absolutely brilliant with me, as well as the players who have kept my morale high.”
