Bowditch believes in Dons

15 November 2016

Dean Bowditch says it’s down to him and his team-mates to move MK Dons up the table.

Bowditch struck late in the final minute as the men from MK1 fought back from a goal down to deservedly earn a 1-1 draw against Walsall on Saturday.

The forward’s seventh goal of the season was reward for a dominant second-half display, which almost resulted in three points in injury-time.

“We’ve hit the post and keepers have been making saves so it was nice to see it go in the bottom corner,” he told MK Dons PlayerHD.

“I’ve been feeling strong this season - touch wood - but I've worked hard to myself in that position. The fact I’m getting 90 minutes under my belt and finishing strong in games is great – I’m relishing playing as much as I can.”

The late leveller wasn’t enough to lift the Dons out of the bottom four but the No.9 is confident they will pull away if they keep showing the same desire.

He said: “We are in a tough situation at the moment but we all believe. We are giving our all and the fans are doing the same too.

“We’ve got to prove to everyone that we are good enough to push up this league. Whoever comes in and whenever that is, we are going to have to continue working hard.”
