Reeves links up with NI for training camp

16 May 2016

Ben Reeves has linked up with Northern Ireland for the first of their pre-Euro 2016 training camps.

Boss Michael O’Neill is set to announce his squad for the European Championships on Saturday 28 May and Reeves will hope to be one of the 23 players named.

Reeves will have the opportunity to impress the Northern Ireland boss during the training camp which starts today and runs through until Thursday.

The midfielder told MK Dons PlayerHD:  “I’ve got a lot to do to get into the squad. I’ve just got to keep trying as hard as I can to get into the squad and I will do that.”

Northern Ireland will then face Belarus in Belfast on Friday 27th and O’Neill will confirm his Euro 2016 squad the following day. The Green and White Army also take on Slovakia in a warm-up match before the tournament.

He will, though, be looking to feature in the friendly against Belarus – the squad for that match will be announced after this week’s training camp.

Right-back Lee Hodson, currently on loan at Kilmarnock, won’t take part in the training camp due to his Scottish Premiership commitments for Killie.
