New apprentices visit St. George's Park

17 May 2016

Five young Dons have undergone health and fitness tests at St. George’s Park ahead of turning first-year apprentices next season.

Bradley Bell, Joe Evans, Tommy Hope, Nathan Pickworth and Finn Tapp all had a cardiac screen, an Electrocardiogram and an Echocardiogram in line with The FA’s requirements prior to stepping up to a full-time environment.

The sixth soon-to-be first year, David Kasumu, wasn’t required as he already underwent the examinations after being drafted into the first-team squad towards the back end of the 2015/16 campaign.

Head of Academy Coaching Edu Rubio led the group and also took the quintet on a tour of the fantastic facilities of The FA’s National Football Centre.

After finishing their GCSE exams in June, the players are likely to have a week off before reporting to Woughton on the Green to commence their apprenticeships with the Dons.
