Mike Dove says the stars of tomorrow will be on show at stadiummk on Sunday as the Dons host FC Barcelona, kick-off 12pm.
The Dons have faced Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Tottenham Hotspur in previous fixtures which has seen the likes of Academy graduates Dele Alli, Brendan Galloway, Sheyi Ojo, Giorgio Rasulo and Oran Jackson feature in.
“For our players, these games are important to give them the opportunity to experience what it’s like to play at stadiummk, in front of a good crowd and against high-level opposition,” he said.
“I would urge you to be patient with the players on the pitch, applaud them for their efforts and most importantly, enjoy watching two young footballing teams.
“At MK Dons, it has been an incredibly proud year for the Academy as the spotlight was shining on us with the likes of Dele Alli, Brendan Galloway and Sheyi Ojo all enjoying success in the Premier League.
“All three players featured in our earliest challenge matches and, for me, that is the most exciting thing – it’s about seeing the stars of the future. It is worth keeping hold of your teamsheet so, in five years’ time, you can look back and see the players that have made it at MK Dons and FC Barcelona.”
He added: “We are delighted that FC Barcelona accepted the invitation to take part in the fixture. It is an globally-renowned football club with one of the most respected and successful academies in the world.”
