MK Dons players have undergone end-of-season testing under the guidance of Head of Sports Science Damien Doyle and Assistant Sports Scientist Tom Bromley.
“They were heavily involved in all our testing and without them we couldn’t have got the quality of results that we’ve got.”
“The guys came down and helped set up, as well as assist with the testing we did. They brought with them equipment which isn’t available to us at MK Dons, such as the speed gates, which is a big help to us.
The Dons were supported by students from the Sports Science and Physical Education department at the University of Bedfordshire and Doyle was appreciative of their support and grateful for the use of their equipment.
“The same goes for the fitness coaches, who may spot something they want us to work on.”
Ben Reeves, one of those who took part in the testing, added: “It gives us an idea of what we need to work on. It gives us a target to try and hit in the future.
“We get a range of tests done with our first-team players just to see where they are at, at the end of the season,” Doyle said. “We test everything from their speed to their strength and this gives us a profile which we can work from at the start of next season.”
