Dean: Let's give the fans a reason to smile

6 May 2016

Dean Lewington wants MK Dons to end the season on a positive note this Saturday lunchtime at stadiummk.

The men from MK1 face Nottingham Forest on the weekend in their final fixture of the campaign and skipper Lewington wants to give the Dons supporters something to cheer after a testing nine months.

“It will be nice to end the season in the best way possible,” Lewington told MK Dons PlayerHD. “The last few home games have been very disappointing so it will nice to give the fans something to cheer about.

“At the very least, we need to put in a decent performance but hopefully we can come away with a win and put a smile on everyone’s faces for the summer.”

“Away from home as well, to places like Fulham, we’ve taken some really big followings so in that side of things, we’ve really grown this season.”

He added: “It’s our way of saying thank you. It’s been hard this season but the fans have been fantastic - they’ve appreciated the situation we are in and they’ve given us nothing but support.

After the final whistle, the players will perform a lap of appreciation to show their gratitude for the terrific support from the stands this season, something which the captain feels is important.
