Robbo’s Dons are determined

29 March 2016

As the Dons gear up for their final eight games of the season, Karl Robinson insists the players are fully focused on achieving their goal of securing Sky Bet Championship survival.

The men from MK1 are one point adrift of 21st place heading into the final five weeks of the 2015/16 campaign but with games against the two teams above them to come in the next 10 days, their fate is firmly in their own hands.

“The players are really focused,” Robinson said. “They are focused on the job at hand and they know what they need to do between now and the end of the season. We’re certainly confident we can achieve what we want to achieve.

“I’ve got tremendous confidence in this team to stay up. I believe in them and it’s important that belief remains around the whole building. If we stick together and have that collective belief, hopefully we can achieve our goals.

“The players that were here last season know how hard you have to work to be successful at the back end of the season. We’ve been here before, albeit in a different predicament, although I feel the pressure last year was even higher.”

He continued: “If anyone was to say we’d be going into the back end of the season within touching distance of safety then I think everybody would have taken it.

“We’re desperate to stay up and we want to stay up.”

“Yes, the consequences and circumstances surrounding it may be different but how you approach the game should never be any different.”

“Every game demands 100 percent effort and attention to detail. No one game is greater than the other.

On Saturday, Robinson’s side face Fulham who are just one point clear of the men from MK1 and although many will label the clash at Craven Cottage as a ‘six-pointer’, the Dons boss is treating it like any other. Tickets for the Dons' clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage are priced at £25 adults, £20 seniors/17-21 year-olds and £15 under-16s, whilethe Club have subsidised coach travel for this fixture, meaning Season Ticket holders and members make the trip for just £10.
