Long looking to impress

31 March 2016

Kevin Long is hoping for a second successful loan spell of the season after arriving from Burnley.

The 25-year-old, who can play at the heart of the defence and at right-back, helped Barnsley to eight wins in 13 games earlier this season, two of which also saw him get on the scoresheet.

He told MK Dons PlayerHD: “Playing for Barnsley, getting some games under my belt and being on a winning run brought a bit of confidence back and hopefully I can keep that going here.

“I’ve settled in really well. It’s a good club, there’s Championship football on offer and that’s where I want to be playing.

“I had a few clubs interested but this was the one I wanted to come to. Thankfully the gaffer here wanted me and decided to bring me in.

“Every club I go to, I know I’m not going to walk into the team. Every player knows they have to fight their place and I’m no different.”

Asked what he will bring to the squad, he replied: “I’ll leave that up to the fans to just for themselves!”

Long, who will wear number 40, will be in the squad for Saturday’s fixture with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

He said: “The bigger the better. All the lads are up for it and hopefully we can get the three points.”

Tickets for Saturday's clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage are priced at £25 adults, £20 seniors/17-21 year-olds and £15 under-16s if bought in advance of matchday, whilethe Club have subsidised coach travel for this fixture, meaning season ticket holders and members make the trip for just £10.
