Fans raising money for Willen Hospice

31 March 2016

Several Dons fans will be taking advantage of subsidised travel to Fulham on Saturday, however two groups of supporters will be using very different forms of transport.

On Thursday morning, nine Dons fans set off on a 54-mile walk from stadiummk to Craven Cottage, while a pair of supporters also began an unusual journey to the Capital – via kayak!

The walking group are taking part in the venture in aid of Willen Hospice – an initiative of the MK Dons Supporters Association – and have already raised over £2,000 through a series of fundraising events and activities over the course of the season.

Today they will walk to Berkhamsted before going as far as Wembley on Friday. They will start the final leg from Wembley Stadium to Craven Cottage on Saturday morning, aiming to arrive in plenty of time for kick-off.

Supporters can track the group’s progress live by following @DonsWalk on Twitter. Donations, meanwhile, can be made via JustGiving by clicking here.

Meanwhile, fans Radar and Bootsie will be kayaking to Craven Cottage – a journey of around 60 miles.

The pair will travel down the Grand Union Canal, passing 81 locks before joining the Thames to Craven Cottage. The trip will involve 25 hours of paddling but the duo are expected to arrive in time for the pubs to open!

Radar and Bootsie’s Kayak challenge is also in aid of Willen Hospice and are aiming to raise £5,000 – a target they could reach with support from the MK Dons family!

Supporters can donate via JustGiving page by clicking here.

Alternatively, fans can give by texting ‘MKDO69’ plus the amount in pounds to 70070 (e.g. MKDO69 £10).
