Boss calls for belief

12 March 2016

Karl Robinson says his Dons side must believe in themselves if they are to take anything from their encounter with Hull City this afternoon.

Robinson’s men travel to the KC Stadium today for a tough Sky Bet Championship clash against a Tigers side which sit just two places and three points below the automatic promotion places.
“We have to go there in the right frame of mind,” Robinson said ahead of today’s game.
“Their quality is there for all to see but there's a lot of self confidence and belief here - if we can carry out our game plan then we can be very competitive.
“They have an unbelievable team and they've got a manager who has been there, seen it and done it. We know going to the KC Stadium we'll have a tough afternoon but it’s what we wanted when coming in at this level.”
He continued: “Defensively we have to be solid but there are elements of their game which you cannot plan for, because they have great players capable of creating moments of magic.
“We've picked a team with an awful lot of pace in it and we feel we can go there and cause Hull some problems.”
The men from MK1 go into this afternoon’s match one point above the bottom three and with two tough fixtures upcoming before the March international break, Robinson wants his players to give their all in order to claim as many points as they can.
He added: “Things don't get much harder for us with Hull away and Brighton (& Hove Albion) at home but if we can nick something out of these games going into the international break, our final few games will look a lot better.
“Last year, we didn't talk about promotion, we just thought about the next game. That single-mindedness probably gave us a stepping stone and it won't be too different this time around.”
