George Baldock insists the Dons are focused on themselves as they look to secure their Sky Bet Championship status.
And although Rotherham United’s third win in a row saw the Dons’ margin above the Millers reduced, Baldock believes it’s crucial he and his teammates don’t get too caught up with results elsewhere.
“I know Rotherham won but other teams are now in the mix and the more teams that can be dragged in, the better for us,” Baldock said after Tuesday’s draw.
“We’re just focused on ourselves. We're really pleased with how things have gone in recent weeks with results and performances too. We've turned a corner recently, we've put good points on the board and if we can keep that up then I’m sure we'll be alright.”
The Dons had their chances to secure maximum points on Tuesday and a victory would have been a real boost for the side but Baldock still views the 0-0 draw as a point gained, noting that when you can’t win it’s important not to lose.
“I think it's a point gained. It was one of those games where you just cannot lose - that wasn't said but it's how I viewed the game.
“It was bitty and rash at times and it got heated too but I'm sure the fans won't be too disappointed.
“We didn't lose and it's good momentum. We need to put back-to-back wins together at some point but if we can't do that, we need to make sure we don't lose.
“The ideal scenario is to win the home games and draw away and we stick to that.”
