Baker: Dons buoyed by key clashes

30 March 2016

Carl Baker insists the Dons are relishing the next few games and is confident the Club can improve on their current position in the Sky Bet Championship.

The men from MK1 face Fulham, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Rotherham United within the next 10 days – Fulham a side who are just above them in the table and Rotherham who are a point further away in 20th.

“There are some six-pointers in there but we wouldn’t want it any other way,” Baker told MK Dons PlayerHD. “Everyone’s got to work hard in the build-up because they are important games.

“Our fate is in our own hands. If we can win those games, we’ll leapfrog the teams above us and then it’ll be up to us to stay above them. It’s going to be exciting and the lads are ready for it.

“The lads are doing well and feeling confident. We’ve got players come back from injury as well so the Gaffer’s going to have selection problems which I’m sure is what he wants. The lads are all eager to play their part in keeping us up.”

“It turned out bittersweet in the end (after the penalty miss) – nobody is more disappointed in that than me. I’ll take it on the chin and all I can do now is put performances in and hopefully score some goals before end of the season.”

“It was amazing to be back playing (against Brighton & Hove Albion). Even just walking into the stadium and the dressing room and seeing my shirt hanging up. It was nice get out onto the pitch and have some involvement.”

“I’m very happy to be back involved. It had been a long 10 or 11 weeks so it’s good to be back training and involved with the lads on a daily basis.

Baker will hope to be involved as much as possible over the next three matches and for the remainder of the season, after returning to fitness following a lengthy lay-off with an ankle injury. Tickets for Saturday's clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage are priced at £25 adults, £20 seniors/17-21 year-olds and £15 under-16s if bought in advance of matchday, whilethe Club have subsidised coach travel for this fixture, meaning Season Ticket holders and members make the trip for just £10.
