Training ground update

1 June 2016

Since its purchase of the land at Cosgrove, MK Dons has been continuing to work on its proposals for the development of an international-standard training facility on the site.

Following significant interest from local residents and other stakeholders, the Club chose to make public the type of scheme they were envisaging in order to seek the views of those parties.

Many submissions were received about the initial proposals and the Club has used the time since to analyse the comments and see how they could incorporate those views in order to improve the project, increase its viability and clearly demonstrate the significant community benefits and facilities that the proposals will bring to South Northamptonshire and the wider region.

The Club has now reached a stage in the process where they are formally asking South Northamptonshire District Council (SNDC), as the planning authority for the area, for their opinion on which matters should be assessed and reported upon as part of any formal application for planning permission that may be submitted.

As part of this process, the Council have published the Club’s request and the revised plan, with people now invited to comment. You can have your say here.

Once SNDC issue their screening opinion, the Club intends to work up a planning permission for submission to the Council later in the year. Following that, the Club will embark on a full consultation with local residents and other stakeholders, which will include public meetings and any other forums as requested by the Council to assist its consideration of any application.
