Kabongo Tshimanga hopes his loan spell in Iceland will help his first-team chances at MK Dons.
“I spoke to Karl near the end of the season and we discussed how I hadn’t played enough games last season,” Tshimanga told MK Dons PlayerHD.
“He wanted me to get out there and play some regular football which would help me when I come back for pre-season.
“As soon as I come back, I’ve got to kick on and work hard in training to show the manager what I’ve learnt during my time in Iceland.
“For the older players, pre season is more about the fitness-side, but for the younger players it’s a chance to show what you can do and opportunities may come from that.”
Tshimanga has featured four times for the Reykjavik outfit since making the switch and in his last outing, grabbed his first goal for the club – now the 20-year-old wants to continue finding his way onto the score-sheet.
He continued: “I’ve really enjoyed it there. The boys have made me and Callum feel really welcome and we’ve settled in well.”
