FIRST-TEAM
Manager
Peterborough appointed Grant McCann as manage in May, after taking temporary charge of the London Round outfit at the back end of the 2015/16 season.

The former Northern Ireland international made over 120 appearances for Posh as a player, winning promotion with them in 2010/11.

This will be his first season in management.

Key and notable players
Midfielder Marcus Maddison was named Posh’s Player of the Year last season after netting 13 times and providing just as many assists in 46 appearances. He was one of three players to reach double-figure goals along with winger Jon Taylor and striker Lee Angol.

Wide-man Taylor was Peterborough’s leading appearance-maker in 2015/16, ahead of Maddison, goalkeeper Ben Alnwick, defenders Ricardo Santos as well as Michael Smith and midfielders Michael Bostwick and Chris Forrester, all of whom featured over 40 times.

Last season
Posh finished 13th in Sky Bet League One last season, their lowest finish since their Championship campaign of 2012/13.

After a tough start – one which resulted in the departure of boss Dave Robertson – Peterborough picked up form following the appointment of Graham Westley, however a disappointing run after Christmas saw him depart London Road in late April.

Former midfielder McCann took temporary charge for the final two matches and led the Posh to two wins.

Transfers
Peterborough parted company with a number of players following their disappointing 2015/16 season, including defender Gabriel Zakuani following more than seven years at the ABAX Stadium.

Fellow defenders Shaun Brisley and Andrew Fox have also been told they can leave Posh, along with strikers Souleymane Coulibaly, Kyle Vassell and Jack Friend. Defender Kgosi Ntlhe is also set to depart after rejecting two contract offers from the Sky Bet League 1 side.

In terms of incomings, Posh have completed just the one signing, that of defender Hayden White from Bolton Wanderers. The 21-year-old defender has signed a two-year contract following his release by the Trotters.
