Dele Alli became the first MK Dons Academy graduate to feature at a major tournament in England’s Euro 2016 opener against Russia.
The 20-year-old played the full match for England, who began their campaign with a 1-1 draw.
After a dominant first half performance, Dier opened the scoring for Roy Hodgson’s men in the 73rd minute with a powerful free-kick.
However, defender Vasili Berezutski looped a header over Joe Hart deep into stoppage time to earn a share of the spoils for the Russians.
Alli and England will look to pick themselves up on Thursday when they take on Wales in Lens.
