Callum Brittain had to wait for his chance to impress at loan club Throttur Reykjavik but since his debut, the full-back has played every minute of every game.
“The loan is going really well,” Brittain told MK Dons PlayerHD. “I wasn’t involved much in the first five games but I played a cup match where I proved myself and I’ve played every minute since.
“In football you have to prove yourself when you get the chance because it might the only chance you get.”
“It’s a fairly new team which has been put together in the past few years and there are a fair few players on loan as well – because it’s a fairly new team, the expectation is just to stay up and I think we can do that.”
“The first five games we played were against the five best teams in Iceland so it was difficult. We’re starting to get into it now and have won three of our last four games.”
Brittain’s team, Throttur, were promoted to the first division last season and after a difficult start, have begun to find their feat at the top level.
“The standard is quite good out there and they are quite physical, so it can be tough from time to time but I’m starting to get my fitness up and I think I’m playing well.”
He continued: “When the manager first told me about the loan I was a bit nervous because it’s a new experience and I’ve been at this Club for 10 years. I didn’t know what it would be like elsewhere but I’m really enjoying it – it’s good to experience other playing styles.
