Scholar Jackson looking to shine

8 July 2016

Oran Jackson has been training with MK Dons’ first-team since his return and the second-year scholar is eager to impress.

Jackson, who joined the Dons at Under-10s level, made his senior debut against Nottingham Forest on the final day of last season and has been given the opportunity this summer to further showcase his talents to the first-team management.

“This is a chance to show I can cope at this level,” the 17-year-old defender told mkdons.com. “In football, age is just a number – it’s about what you put it on the training pitch and during games, and I’m putting in everything I can.

He continued: “My realistic aim is to stay in the first team and get some minutes. I’d like to experience it all a year early because that will help me, if I become a professional next year.”

“I don’t want to just be keeping up with the others, I want to be at the top of the group. The gaffer told me not just to follow other players because I’m younger than them but to be a leader and I’m looking to do that.”
Jackson could feature for MK Dons on Tuesday 26th July, when the men from MK1 host Everton in a pre-season friendly.

Tickets for the friendly are priced from £12 adults and £3 under-18s, while Season Ticket holders are entitled to discounted prices - click here for full details!
