Preview: Cambridge City/St. Ives Town

15 July 2016

MK Dons start their pre-season friendlies on home soil with a double-header this weekend.

The men from MK1, who returned from their training camp in Ireland on Thursday, will travel to the Huntingdonshire on Saturday to face Cambridge City and St. Ives Town - kick-offs are at 1pm and 4pm respectively.

THE OPPOSITION
Cambridge City and St. Ives Town will both be competing in the Southern League Premier Division in 2016/17 after the latter were promoted last season via the play-offs.

The pair began their groundshare agreement last season after the Lilywhites moved into the home of St. Ives Town – the Pro-Edge Westwood Road Stadium, where Saturday's games will take place.

TEAM NEWS
Most of the Dons’ squad will be in action, with one half set to take on the Lilywhites and the other facing the Saints later in the afternoon.

One definite absentee will be Dean Bowditch, who has a calf injury.

FIGHTING TALK
Karl Robinson: “There’s a buzz around the place, an appetite and hunger to be successful again. So far everybody has taken responsibility and is moving in the right direction.”

STAY IN TOUCH
Both matches will be held at the Pro-Edge Westwood Road ground and entry on the day is priced at £10 adults, £8 concessions and £4 under-16s.

Admission prices are for both matches and there will be no single game entry prices available. Fans wishing to exit the ground between games will be able to re-enter at no additional charge.

For those at home, live updates will be provided on Twitter - @MKDonsFC - while a full match report will be available to view on mkdons.com after the final whistle. Reaction, highlights and photos will follow.
