Ladies preview: West Ham United

15 July 2016

Manager James Honeyman is hoping his side continue to make strides when they face West Ham United Ladies in the team’s third pre-season friendly.

MK Dons Ladies host West Ham United Ladies at Mursley Community Sports Pavilion and Playing Fields on Saturday 16th July, with a kick-off time of 12.30pm.

The pre-season has gone well for MK Dons Ladies so far and Honeyman is looking for further improvements. He said: “The Ladies have applied themselves very well so far and are ahead of where we thought they would be at this point.

“I am looking for us to continue making big strides both physically and tactically.”

The friendly will provide a test for the Dons Ladies as West Ham Ladies finished 10th in the Southern Division last season, whereas the Dons Ladies finished 3rd in the South East Division 1.

Honeyman is hoping the higher-ranked opposition will bring out the best in his side.

He said: “We have big expectations, and games against the likes of West Ham, Crystal Palace and Charlton allow us to really bench mark ourselves against teams in higher leagues.”

The game will be further preparation ahead of the season’s start on Sunday 21st August.

Entry to the game against West Ham United Ladies is free, along with parking at the ground, while an official programme will be available to purchase for £1.
