Euro 2016: Simon’s Wales set for semi final

6 July 2016

Simon Church and Wales will be looking to continue making history this evening when they take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in their Euro 2016 semi-final.

Wales have reached the Last 4 of a major international tournament for the first time and will not want their journey to end tonight in Lyon.

Chris Coleman’s men go into the match having won five of their six matches at Euro 2016, including a stunning 3-1 success over the highest-ranked side at the tournament, Belgium, in the quarter finals.

They will, though, be without midfielder Aaron Ramsey for tonight’s crucial clash – the Arsenal man has scored one goal and provided four assists at the Championships but is suspended after collecting two yellow cards.

His absence may open the door for former MK Dons loanee Jonny Williams to make his second start for Wales. Dons striker Church and Academy graduate George Williams are both set to be named on the bench.

Kick-off at the Stade de Lyon is at 8pm. There will be live coverage on ITV1.
