Boss backing returning Dons to shine

5 July 2016

Karl Robinson is confident his returning MK Dons players can shine this season at Stadium MK.

Fifteen members of the 2015/16 squad are back for this forthcoming campaign and their boss is expected big seasons from several of the group – in particular, his defenders.

“I want that back six to be the best in their positions,” Robinson told mkdons.com. “It's time to turn the heat up.

“I expect George Baldock to be the best right back in the league, I expect Joe Walsh to be the best left-sided centre half and I expect Dave Martin to be the best keeper. I also want Darren Potter to be the best number six.”

“I think Samir has the potential to be as good as he wants to be. I’ve also got a funny feeling Daniel Powell could have a great year – he has come back extremely fit.”

Further up the field, Robinson has thrown his support behind Samir Carruthers, who is entering his third season as a permanent Dons player, as well as Daniel Powell, who is a year removed from a XX-goal campaign.
