Robbo: Important result

18 January 2016

Karl Robinson described Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Reading as a ‘massive result’ for his side.

The Dons, thanks to Joe Walsh’s 78th minute volley and a head-earned clean-sheet, responded to the disappointment of Burnley to register their sixth home Sky Bet Championship victory of the season and climb one place in the table to 20th.

“It was a massive result for us on the back of the disappointment of the other day,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD. “(Burnley) was a difficult evening for everybody – players, staff and the fans – and so it was great to respond in the way we did.

“The fans mean an awful lot to me and my players and we wanted to send them into the weekend with a better feeling than what they had on Tuesday evening.

“It was a magnificent win. It’s very unlike us to score from a set-piece and win 1-0 at stadiummk so that was nice – all my players deserved a pat on the back.

“Wins are sometimes difficult to come by so I want the fans to enjoy it. Hopefully we can continue this form and mentality because there are lot more games to play. But, this is one chalked off and three more points on our tally.”
