Dons host roadshow at Aylesbury Grammar School

8 January 2016

More than 60 school children enjoyed a football roadshow with the Dons players at Aylesbury Grammar School.

The youngsters took part in skills sessions, run by four community coaches who work with the MK Dons SET, and were then treated to a Q&A and autograph session with Dons goalkeepers Cody Cropper and Charlie Burns, as well as winger and local Rob Hall.

Cropper told mkdons.com: “I really enjoy giving back when I can - it was great to meet so many enthusiastic children.”

His sentiments were echoed by Balvinder Shekhon, who had also helped in a coaching session for the Year 9 Aylesbury Grammar school football team earlier in the day, run by MK Dons Head of Coaching Richie Barker.

“It’s great to be come out and work with children from the local community,” said Shekhon. “It’s a high priority for a club like MK Dons which itself is built on family values.”

The roadshow was one of a number of events the Club has held in the build up to the Aylesbury Big Day, which will be held on Saturday 16th January when the Dons take on Reading at stadiummk.

First-team coach and former captain Keith Andrews took a coaching session for Aylesbury FC, while the Club also hosted a business reception for Aylesbury-based businesses.

For the Big Day fixture itself, residents with HP18 - 23 postcodes can purchase tickets at a discounted rate of £15 for adults and £3 for under-18s.

A subsidised coach service is also available for £5 return. The coach will depart from Exchange Street at 1pm.

To purchase match and/or coach tickets, visit the Box Office at stadiummk/kiosk at centre:mk or call 0333 200 5343.
