Boss excited by Elland Road clash

1 January 2016

Karl Robinson says Saturday’s clash at Elland Road was one of the first ones he looked for when the fixtures came out back in June.

The Dons travel to Yorkshire this weekend to take on Leeds United in their first match of 2016, looking to get the New Year off to a positive start.

“I don’t think they come any bigger than playing Leeds United at home,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD.

“Going to Elland Road is as big as it gets in English football, given the history of the Football Club and the support that they have.

“It’s one of the ones people look for as soon as the fixtures come out - it’s one of the first ones I looked for.

“It’s the first game of the year as well so hopefully we can get off on a good foot.”

“We’ve got to put it right and there’s no better place than Elland Road to try and do that.

“There’s no fundamental reason for it. We’ve been negative away from home and we’ve been attacking away from home but whatever we’ve tried hasn’t worked.

As well as hoping they can start 2016 with a victory, Robinson’s men will also be looking to put right their away form having only picked up five points on the road so far this season.
