Wyant helps Biggleswade to third straight win

24 February 2016

Scholar Tom Wyant put in another impressive performance for Biggleswade United as they beat Sun Sports 3-1 on Tuesday evening.

The young goalkeeper saved a penalty in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division clash, as United closed the gap on the top six to three points thanks to an own goal and strikes from Nick Elliot and Scott Batchelor.

The Bedfordshire outfit have won all three games since Wyant’s arrival earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Kabongo Tshimanga featured for Chesham United in their Southern League Premier Division fixture with Cambridge City.

Tshimanga played just under an hour for the Generals, but couldn’t prevent them falling to a 3-1 loss at the Meadow.

The striker was making his second appearance since joining the Buckinghamshire club on a month’s loan.

Wyant and Tshimanga were the only two involved in action on Tuesday but the Dons’ other players out on loan will hope to feature for their respective sides this weekend.

In Scotland, Simon Church’s Aberdeen host St. Johnstone while Lee Hodson and Kilmarnock travel to Hearts.

Tom Hitchcock will be eager to get involved straight away for Crewe Alexandra, after joining them on loan until the end of the season – they face Barnsley at the Alexandra Stadium.

Elsewhere, Harry Hickford’s Hemel Hempstead Town entertain Bath City, Tshimanga and Chesham United take on Bideford and Wyant will be looking to maintain his good form for Biggleswade when they reunited with Tuesday's opponents Sun Sports.
