Boss excited by additions

4 February 2016

Karl Robinson is excited by his two new strikers, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Alex Revell.

The Dons boss completed a Deadline Day double to capture the pair of forwards, with Emmanuel-Thomas signing on loan until the end of the season from Queens Park Rangers and Revell joining on a free transfer from Cardiff City.

“They really excite me,” Robinson told MK Dons PlayerHD. “I really liked them both when I spoke to them. I told them that they’ve got to come here and entertain and I think that suits them both.

"Jay is relatively young but I’m really excited about him because he’s as good as I’ve seen. For someone of his size and with his power, he moves with such grace. He ticks so many boxes

“Alex is at a good age and he’s been at this level a while. He’s scored goals up and down the leagues. He’ll compete in the air and he’s one of the fittest players I’ve seen. He’s a workaholic and we’re going to need that. He’ll add strength and power to the team too."

It wasn’t just incomings that kept Robinson busy on Deadline Day, as Simon Church and Lee Hodson both moved to Scotland on loan deals at Aberdeen and Kilmarnock respectively, while Dale Jennings left the Club by mutual consent.

“Dale was someone I brought in, in the summer but things just didn’t work out. Hopefully one day he’ll be flourish and fulfil the talent he’s been blessed with.

“With Lee he needs to play games ahead of the Euros and I felt this was an ideal chance for him to do that and with Churchy, it’s the same.

“We had to do right by them and also the Football Club.”

He continued: “A lot have players have gone in this window but now the squad looks completely streamlined.

“We’re getting a stronger and streamlined group. We’ve let go a lot of the squad players and really focused on some key areas.  We’ve got a smaller squad but it’s one I’m sure is ready to compete for the rest of the season.”

Emmanuel-Thomas and Revell could make their home debuts in Tuesday night's clash with Boro - tickets are priced from £25 adults/£7 under-18s and FREE for under-12s, while Club Dons members can buy a ticket for £15 in all standard areas.
