Robbie wants success over Christmas

26 December 2016

Robbie Neilson wants his MK Dons side to take full advantage of the points available over the festive period.

Neilson’s Dons will play three games between Boxing Day and 2nd January and with two of those taking place at Stadium MK, the Scotsman wants the team to make the most of this chance to add to their total.

“During this period between Christmas and January it’s really important that you pick up points,” Neilson said in the build-up to Monday’s clash with Charlton Athletic.

“With the games so close together it’s an opportunity to push right up the league if you can get into a good run of form.

“We won’t look too far ahead and we’ll take care of the Charlton game before we look to the next game, but I want to try and win every match – we don’t want to go into any game willing to settle for a draw.”

“It was one win in (14) games so we’ve still got a lot of work to do to make sure we start continuously getting three points here.”

“I think getting the monkey off our back in the home win a couple of weeks ago has made a big difference confidence-wise but we’ve still got a long way to go.

While pleased to have turned the corner at Stadium MK, Neilson isn’t getting carried away and knows there is still work to be done.

The Dons should be full of confidence heading into their two home matches against Charlton and Swindon Town, following on from their recent back-to-back successes. hereTo purchase tickets click or visit the Box Office/ticket booths around Stadium MK ahead of kick-off.
