Preview: BBFA County Cup

20 December 2016

MK Dons face Slough Town this evening in their Berks and Bucks FA County Senior Cup quarter-final tie at Arbour Park.

The men from MK1 saw off Chalfont St. Peter 4-1 in the first round thanks to a brace from Ben Tilney and goals by Kabongo Tshimanga and Brandon Thomas-Asante.

That victory in South East Buckinghamshire took place way over three months ago which is due to this upcoming tie being re-arranged twice due to both the first-team’s involvement in the Emirates FA Cup and the Under-18s participation in the FA Youth Cup.

Since that game, the Dons’ Under-21s team have played a number of behind-closed-doors friendlies, including a 2-1 win over Luton Town earlier this month.

Slough currently sit second in the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division table, seven points adrift of leaders Leamington having played two games less.

The Rebels booked their place in the quarter-final stage with an emphatic 7-4 success over Beaconsfield SYCOB in round one – seven, though, isn’t the highest amount they’ve scored in a single game this season as back in October they thrashed Ashford Town 9-2 in the League Cup.

In terms of recent form, Slough have lost just one of their last four matches in all competitions – a run which has seen them win twice and draw once.

Duo James Dobson and Charlie Moone netted a combined six goals during their recent stretch of their results and the pair currently lead the team’s scoring charts with 16 and 15 to their respective names this season.

MK Dons squad travelling to Slough:
Goalkeepers – Charlie Burns, Alfie Jones
Defenders – Tommy Hope, Jack Hourican-Harvey, David Kasumu, Peter Kioso, Juma Omar,
Midfielders – Bradley Bell, Connor Furlong, Andrew Osei-Bonsu, Charlie Pattinson, Jenson Wright
Forwards – Jay Bird, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Kabongo Tshimanga

Entry can be paid for on the turnstiles at Arbour Park, with admission priced at £5 adults, £3 concessions and £1 under-16s.
