Kieran Agard, Paul Downing and Nicky Maynard react to Saturday's 2-2 draw with Millwall at Stadium MK...
On debut double...
"I’m delighted but I’m more delighted that we’ve come away with a result today. The fans were fantastic. I want to say a big thank you to the fans, the players and the staff for helping me settle in. I’m happy that I got two goals. I don’t think I’ve ever scored on my debut so to score two is fantastic."
On settling in well...
"(A good welcome) settles you down. Everyone around the place has made me feel welcome. I feel like I’ve been playing with the boys for years."
On his first goal...
"I received the ball on the edge of the box, so I went to get it out of my feet and get a shot off. It found the bottom corner and I was happy with that."
I’d like to think it’s getting better with each game, with a better understanding. We had a few pre-season friendlies and we’ve had the same back four two games running. I’m got a good understand with Joe and I’m getting to know everyone. Hopefully we can build on it. We got our first clean sheet and obviously disappointed with two set-pieces, sort of, today. I thought we dealt quite well with their front two who, on their day, are obviously one of the best partnerships in the division.
On back-four partnership...
It was obviously good character. It was a good time to score, especially after the second goal, with Kieran popping up. It changed the momentum and we felt like we were back in the game. Obviously he scored again. He looked lively all game, really. I’m pleased for him, on his debut, to score two good goals. We got in 2-2 at half-time and we addressed a few things. We’re disappointed with how we played in the second half. At times it got scrappy and that played more into their hands than ours.
On fighting back...
Although we went two-nil down, I thought we were the better team in the first half. We moved the ball well at times and got into their final third. Although we didn’t test the keeper, we got into good positions. Obviously disappointed with the goals we conceded. I think as the game got on, it got scrappy but we still had the better chances. Obviously disappointed, at home, to draw but we’ll take the point and go into Tuesday.
On the point...
PAUL DOWNING
I’ve been excited just to get started. Today, was good we got the result. We focus on Bradford. We’ll look to prepare right and hopefully get the result we need.
On looking forward...
It’s great. As I said, the welcome that they’ve given me (has been great). To go out there and get two goals, and get the result today is fantastic.
Playing in front of the fans...
The ball came over the top, I think, from Ed (Upson), I ran onto it, saw the keeper coming out and stopping a bit. He left me with no alternative but to put it over him. I got it over him and it went in.
On second goal...
We can go into every game expecting to win and if we end up going 2-0 down then we still expect to be able to pull it back. We’ve done it today and hopefully we don’t make any mistakes come Tuesday so we can just hit the ground running and end up with a clean sheet and three points.
On team’s character...
I think (it’s a good result). Coming back from two-nil down, we’d have taken 2-2. Obviously we went into the game expecting three points. We showed great character and we can only build on that and hopefully get the three points on Tuesday night.
On the result...
NICKY MAYNARD
With the game being at home, we’ll look to take the game to them and try to pick the three points up. That will make this draw even better then. Seven points after three games is the aim. We’ll do all of our recovery work now and analyse the opponents so we’re prepared for their strengths. We’re looking forward to the game.
On Tuesday’s match with Bradford City...
I enjoyed it. There was a good attendance and the fans were behind us. I look forward to playing under the lights here on Tuesday. On home debut...
Sometimes it’s frustrating not to get many chances but all I can do is work hard, run around, close defenders down and create opportunities for my teammates. I’m delighted for Kieran to come in so quickly and get on the scoresheet. Hopefully he can kick on and we can push each other to score as many goals as possible.
On personal performance...
Last season we would have probably crumbled from being two-nil down so quick and not look like we’re going to get two back. We’ve worked hard this summer and, as I said, we showed great character to come back and get a point.
