George Baldock is ready to get the season started after committing his long-term future to MK Dons.
“I’m obviously delighted to be staying at MK Dons,” he said. “The Gaffer has been speaking to me about it for a while, so to get it over the line is brilliant – now I can just concentrate on the season and hopefully it’s a successful one.
“Hopefully I’ll enjoy my time here even more this year, if we have another successful season like the one before last.”
“I love it here. I love the manager, the coaching staff and the boys. The fans are brilliant and have taken to me ever since I made my debut and long may that continue. I live five minutes away from the stadium as well and the facilities at the stadium are Premier League standard.
“I’ve had a taste for (Championship football) so I now I just want to really kick on and experience it again. It would be great to experience it with MK Dons next year and I don’t see why that won’t be the case.”
Having had a taste of football in the second tier during the second-half of last season, Baldock is eager to get back to that level and the 23-year-old believes there is no reason why he won’t be there in 2017 with the men from MK1.
The new deal comes following a breakout 2015/16 campaign for Baldock, who shone during a loan spell at Oxford United before impressing in 15 Sky Bet Championship appearances for the Dons.
Baldock and Co begin their League One campaign this Saturday at Shrewsbury Town - tickets are priced at £20 adults and £15 over-65s/young adults, £8 12-18 year-olds and £6 8-11 year-olds, while under-8s go FREE.
